KatadataOTO – PT Sritex is once again in the public spotlight. This comes after investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) seized dozens of luxury cars.
A total of 72 four-wheeled vehicles were seized by the Attorney General's Office from the Sritex 2 Sawah Building in Banmati, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java on Tuesday (08/07) night.
The seizure was carried out for the investigation of alleged corruption in the provision of credit by PT BJB, PT Bank DKI, and BPD Central Java to PT Sritex and its subsidiaries.
“The seizure was carried out on the grounds that the objects or documents were used as tools to commit a criminal act,” said Harli Siregar, Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, as quoted by Antara.
For your information, the cars seized by the Attorney General's Office at the Sritex factory included some from Toyota. Such as the Avanza and a number of Alphards.
There were also several four-wheeled vehicles from various brands. For example, Subaru, Isuzu, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus.
Meanwhile, 10 of the 72 seized cars will be stored at the State Confiscated Objects Depository (Rupbasan) Class 1 in West Jakarta and Tangerang.
There, all these four-wheeled vehicles will be secured, maintained, and managed.
Meanwhile, the remaining 62 are still being stored by the Attorney General's Office at the Sritex 3 Building, Sukoharjo, Central Java.
“Guarded by 10 TNI members and employees of the Sukoharjo District Attorney's Office while a safe and adequate location is being sought,” Harli continued.
On the other hand, according to circulating rumors, all the cars seized by the Attorney General's Office from the Sritex factory will be auctioned to the general public.
This will be carried out after Sritex is declared bankrupt. However, the auction is planned to be conducted in stages.
