KatadataOTO – The wholesale figure for four-wheeled vehicles in Indonesia as of March 2025 experienced a decline compared to last month. In February 2025, the figure was 72,336 units, decreasing to 70,892 units this month.

It should be noted that wholesales means the number of vehicles distributed from the factory to the dealer.

Meanwhile, in terms of retail sales, or from dealer to consumer, the figure actually increased from 69,872 units in February to 76,582 units in March 2025.

In first place, Toyota still leads car sales with 24,514 units, followed by Daihatsu with 13,111 units and Honda with 8,165 units in third place.

Following them are Mitsubishi with 6,327 units and then Suzuki with 5,006 units. Interestingly, Chinese brands have maintained their positions in the top 10.

Like newcomer BYD (Build Your Dreams). Their retail sales reached 2,870 units this month, placing them just above the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai, which sold 2,354 units.

Chasing Hyundai, BYD's premium sub-brand, Denza, ranked eighth. Having just brought in one model, the Denza D9 has sold 1,801 units throughout March 2025.

In total, four brands from China entered the top 10 in March 2025.

Following Chery is Aion with total sales of 712 units. Throughout 2025, this brand has delivered nearly 1,000 units to consumers, 996 units to be exact.

Japanese manufacturers will face more rivals this year. Such as Leapmotor, which is indicated to enter Indonesia in 2025, part of the Stellantis Group that will offer the C10 SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle).

Sales will also continue to face various economic challenges, amidst issues of US import tariffs and the discourse on easing regulations related to TKDN (Local Component Level).
