KatadataOTO – Ahead of the 2025 Eid holiday, people are starting to prepare their vehicles for their homecoming trips. This includes owners of Toyota hybrid cars, which are now more numerous than before.
The presence of Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) like the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV has indeed made things easier for the public. This is because these vehicles have much more efficient fuel consumption while still providing maximum performance.
This is because Toyota uses a self-charging system that automatically charges the battery via the gasoline engine and regenerative braking. The engine not only charges the battery but also delivers power when needed, such as when going uphill or overtaking other vehicles, all of which is managed automatically and seamlessly.
Based on Katadata's testing on the toll road, the Yaris Cross Hybrid only needs 1 liter of gasoline to travel 27.9 km, or a record of 27.9 km/liter. This figure is much better than non-hybrid vehicles in its class, which are in the range of 15 km for 1 liter of gasoline.
The manufacturer has also ensured that the transition between the gasoline engine and the electric motor is smooth, providing a positive driving experience through the Toyota Hybrid System (THS), which controls the performance of the Toyota hybrid engine in various driving scenarios. This is supported by a smooth CVT transmission that is capable of distributing performance more optimally.
The hybrid technology in Toyota cars also has a positive impact on the environment because the emissions produced are drastically reduced by up to about 50% compared to an ICE engine of the same capacity. This system has been proven to support carbon neutrality targets at an affordable price.
Toyota's commitment to developing hybrid technology is unquestionable. After all, they have been selling their products since 1997 with the Prius.
With the spirit of continuous improvement, the technology adopted in the THS continues to be developed and has now entered its fifth generation, which is increasingly sophisticated and modern. It is not surprising that they are confident in calling the THS the most efficient hybrid system compared to other brands.
To make it easier for customers to maintain their vehicles, Toyota provides the largest official workshop network in Indonesia. Impressively, there are 358 official workshops for customers in the country with global Toyota quality standards. This convenience is further supported by a guarantee of high-quality original Toyota spare parts and a warranty for replacement parts.
Customers can enjoy a battery warranty for 8 years or 160,000 km as a form of Toyota's commitment to the durability of its electrified vehicle batteries. With just regular periodic servicing, Toyota affirms that hybrid technology does not require extra maintenance, so people can continue their activities as usual.
