KatadataOTO – The Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) Mitsubishi Destinator recently received a five-star rating or a perfect score in the 2025 ASEAN NCAP crash test.

For your information, ASEAN NCAP is a comprehensive vehicle safety test conducted for cars in the Southeast Asian region.

The Mitsubishi Destinator's crash test score is one form of the manufacturer's commitment to reducing traffic accident rates.

“The Destinator is equipped with various Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features, namely Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing,” read an official statement from Mitsubishi, quoted on Friday (14/11).

This set of safety features is considered to play an important role in anticipating accidents, including those tested in the ASEAN NCAP.

“In the cabin, passengers are also protected by airbags at six points. The body structure is built using high-quality materials designed to absorb impact while minimizing cabin deformation during a collision,” the statement read.

Then, since 2017, a new test has become part of the product testing in ASEAN NCAP, namely the functionality of Blind Spot Detection.

The Mitsubishi Destinator is said to have this feature on both sides of the vehicle and it functions well according to ASEAN NCAP criteria.

Overall, ASEAN NCAP confirms that the Mitsubishi Destinator has successfully demonstrated safety in terms of both body strength and supporting safety features.

“The latest Mitsubishi Destinator showed good performance under the ASEAN NCAP testing protocol, achieving an average score of 77.27 points,” read the ASEAN NCAP statement.

It was further explained that based on the score obtained during testing, the Mitsubishi Destinator is entitled to secure a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
