KatadataOTO – PT MMKSI (Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia) has just introduced its newest SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), the Destinator.

The model is claimed to fill a new segment between the Xpander and Pajero Sport. It serves as an alternative for Xpander owners who want a 7-seater model with a competitive price tag.

However, based on the explanation from Mitsubishi, it is certain that the price will be in the range of Rp 400 million and above.

“This is essentially an upgrade from the Xpander, so the price must be higher than the Xpander,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI, when met in Sentul recently.

The Mitsubishi Destinator is also expected to be a new option for consumers with a budget below the Pajero Sport.

Considering the Pajero Sport is Mitsubishi's flagship model with a price ranging from Rp 577.7 million to Rp 779.6 million on the road in Jakarta.

“In terms of price, we must ensure it is affordable for consumers. On July 23, 2025, I will explain the pricing strategy in more detail,” Kurita affirmed.

He did not deny that the Mitsubishi Destinator will face challenges from the lineup of Chinese vehicles, which are often sold at lower prices.

But Kurita stated that his party will be careful in setting an appropriate price for the market.

“I don't know if we can compete with Chinese products. But I am confident that Indonesian consumers can understand and accept our price,” said Kurita.

According to Kurita, Mitsubishi has a strong foundation as it has been operating in Indonesia for 55 years.

The model being offered, the Destinator, is claimed to have undergone intensive studies before being presented to consumers. Thus, it is expected to meet the needs and tastes of consumers.

“The Mitsubishi Xpander and Destinator are designed for the Indonesian market, we are confident the price will be in line with our strategy, attractive,” he concluded.

It is almost certain that the price of the highest-tier Mitsubishi Destinator will not exceed the price tag of the Pajero Sport.

It should be noted that the top variant of the Mitsubishi Destinator, the Ultimate Premium, is equipped with more complete features, including an audio system from Yamaha.

The Yamaha speakers were previously first implemented in their compact SUV model, the XForce.

The price of the Mitsubishi Destinator is likely to be in the range of Rp 400 million to Rp 500 million and will be announced at the GIIAS 2025 event.
