KatadataOTO – Mitsubishi recalls the L300 produced from June 2022 to January 2024. This is due to the discovery of potential damage to the Connecting Rod component in the vehicle's engine.

In a statement, it was mentioned that the car's engine could potentially stall suddenly and not be able to restart. The damage is triggered by inadequate waterproofing performance on the connector part of the engine control harness.

Additionally, there is also injector damage due to fuel contamination and the use of imitation or non-genuine fuel filters by vehicle owners.

Therefore, Mitsubishi has taken the initiative to recall 30,823 units of the Mitsubishi L300 that are estimated to be affected by the damage.

In this program, Mitsubishi will conduct an inspection of the affected vehicle units. If necessary, technicians will repair and replace potentially problematic components such as connector (Harness) repair or replacement of the Harness, Common Rail, and Pipe.

Additionally, technicians at official Mitsubishi Motors dealerships will also replace the Fuel Filter item free of charge.

As a form of appreciation to the affected Mitsubishi L300 consumers who participate in this inspection campaign, MMKSI will provide 10 free original fuel filters to be distributed according to the periodic maintenance schedule.

To participate in the recall program, MMKSI will send invitation letters to consumers through dealers, information via SMS, Whatsapp, as well as announcements on the website and official MMKSI social media channels.

Customers can also visit an official dealer or contact Mitsubishi Motors Customer Care at 0804–1–300–300

Consumers are advised to make a booking or schedule an appointment before the repair.

“This inspection campaign program is a form of Mitsubishi Motors' commitment and responsibility throughout the entire vehicle ownership process. We invite Mitsubishi L300 consumers with affected vehicles to have their vehicles inspected through an easy and free procedure,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI.

Not only conducting a recall, Mitsubishi has also coordinated to improve product quality. One of the improvements is an engine control cable with a higher level of water resistance since February 1, 2024.
