KatadataOTO – PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) revealed that the 2024 fiscal year was full of challenges. This is because car sales experienced a decline, reaching only 889,680 units, a decrease of 10.9 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
The sharp decline also impacted Mitsubishi's sales, which only recorded a figure of 71,451 units from April 2024 - March 2025. This number is down compared to the same period in 2023, which was 77,937 units.
This is unfortunate because the three-diamond logo company actually performed quite well in the 2022 fiscal year. In that period, they sold 90,341 units.
Looking at the sales data for the 2024 fiscal year, Mitsubishi is present in the passenger and commercial vehicle segments. Each comes with interesting records.
The Mitsubishi Xpander has become the company's backbone in the passenger vehicle segment. The car was successfully released to the market with sales of 18,853 units.
Meanwhile, in second place is the Pajero Sport with sales of 12,100 units. Then, the third best-selling car is the Xpander Cross, thanks to achieving 11,495 units.
Next, the Xforce sold 7,108 units and is claimed to be the second best-selling model in the Small SUV segment. The total number of Mitsubishi passenger vehicles sold was 49,559 units, capturing 7.6 percent of the national market.
Meanwhile, in the commercial vehicle segment, the Mitsubishi L300 is the mainstay with a demand of 12,123 units. Then, the Triton 4x4 also contributed with 9,568 units.
The achievement from other models was 201 units. Thus, the number of commercial vehicles successfully sold was 21,892 units, or 15 percent of the market.
Therefore, Mitsubishi's total sales throughout the 2024 fiscal year amounted to 71,451 units, equivalent to 8.2 percent of the total national market.
“We would like to thank Mitsubishi Motors consumers for supporting the business development process of Mitsubishi Motors in Indonesia, enabling us to overcome the various challenges in 2024,” said Atsushi Kurita, President Director of PT MMKSI.
He is also still optimistic that the market will see an improvement in the 2025 fiscal year. Especially since they have already launched the Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross in Indonesia.
Both models are believed to be able to attract consumers in the country
