The Mitsubishi Xforce Hybrid is scheduled to appear at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025 in Thailand on March 20.
KatadataOTO – Thailand has become one of the important countries for various hybrid car manufacturers. The reason is, the government presents a series of beneficial policies for both producers and consumers.
This makes the price of hybrid cars more competitive, with some even said to be cheaper than gasoline cars.
In March 2025, Mitsubishi plans to launch a hybrid version of their compact SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), the Xforce.
Based on information from local Thai media, Autolifethailand, quoted on Thursday (27/2), the launch will be held on March 20, 2025, at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2025.
It should be noted that the Xforce previously made its global debut in Indonesia. Currently, the model is only available with a gasoline engine option, and the latest Diamond Sense type was recently introduced.
In addition to the hybrid technology, the Xforce Hybrid uses a 1,600 cc full hybrid engine with an electric motor, similar to the Xpander HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) which was already launched in Thailand.
Then, just like the Xpander, Mitsubishi will also locally produce the Xforce Hybrid at the Laem Chabang assembly facility in Chonburi.
Regarding the dimensions and exterior design, it seems there won't be many changes to the Xforce Hybrid. However, the wheel design will change, although it will still be 18 inches in size.
Meanwhile, other supporting features will likely remain the same, based on the highest Xforce trim equipped with Mitsubishi's ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), namely Diamond Sense.
Following the government's provision of incentives for hybrid cars, Mitsubishi Indonesia appreciates the move and is interested in bringing in HEVs.
It is known that they are open to the possibility of the Xpander Hybrid arriving first. This model is one of the backbones of sales for the three-diamond brand factory in the country.
“I will increase the production volume of MMKI (Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia) and we will introduce many new models, including electrified ones like hybrids,” said Takao Kato, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Cikarang some time ago.
The choice of hybrid MPVs (Multi-Purpose Vehicles) is also still limited in the country. For the Low MPV class, only the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid Cruise is available, while in the premium segment there are many options ranging from the Nissan Serena e-power to the Toyota Alphard Hybrid.
