KatadataOTO – Nafa Urbach, an artist and a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2024-2029 period from the NasDem Party, has recently come under scrutiny after making a statement regarding the increase in the housing allowance for people's representatives to Rp 50 million. The reason is that she revealed her commute from home to the parliament building is extremely congested.

She also explained that many council members come from outside the region, so during sessions, they have to rent a place to live to be able to work optimally.

“Many council members come from out of town, so they have to rent. Even for me, whose house is in Bintaro, the traffic is extraordinary,” she said.

The statement received various views. She later issued a clarification through a post on her Instagram account, revealing that she understood the public's disappointment.

“For me, the people's interests are always prioritized. Input and criticism will be a reminder for me to work more earnestly, trustworthily, and in favor of the community,” she said.

As a council member, Nafa Urbach actually has considerable wealth. It is recorded that she has total assets of Rp 20.2 billion.

Of that amount, she owns assets in the form of two vehicles with a value of Rp 1.15 billion.

The first vehicle she owns is a 2015 Honda HR-V Prestige. The car was acquired through her own means with a value of Rp 215 million.

She is also recorded as owning a 2022 Mercedes-Benz E200. In the report, it is mentioned that she acquired the car through her own means with a value of Rp 935 million.

She also has other movable assets valued at Rp 13.5 billion. This is her largest asset compared to other wealth, followed by cash and cash equivalents valued at Rp 3.7 billion.

In addition, she also has securities valued at Rp 300 million and has no debt.
