KatadataOTO  – Public interest in hybrid cars or Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) continues to show a positive trend. Moreover, the choice of models is increasing domestically.

When looking at wholesales or shipments from the factory to the dealer, the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix remains at the top position with a total of 2,206 units.

Citing data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the type that contributed the most was the highest variant, the Q HEV Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) Modelista, with 1,130 units.

This flagship model from PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) also previously held the top spot in February 2025, with 1,982 units recorded.

Meanwhile, throughout March 2025, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid also maintained its second position with 1,202 units, an increase from the 807 units in February.

Toyota still dominates the top 10 hybrid car bestsellers for March 2025. Besides the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV, there are also the Yaris Cross HEV, Alphard HEV, and Vellfire HEV.

On the other hand, not many Chinese manufacturers are involved in hybrid cars. However, in the near future, Chery will introduce their first HEV product in Indonesia, the Tiggo 8 CSH.

Interestingly, although it is a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the Tiggo 8 CSH will be sold for under Rp 1 billion.

In the luxury Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, the Toyota Alphard HEV, Vellfire HEV, and Lexus LM 350h also contributed positive results.

Respectively, the three recorded figures of 203 units, 55 units, and 131 units.

Specifically for the Lexus LM 350h, data from Gaikindo shows the 7-seater type is the most popular, accounting for 124 out of the total 131 units.

Here are the 10 best-selling hybrid cars for March 2025. As a note, the figures listed by KatadataOTO are wholesale data, or shipments from the factory to the dealer, not retail (dealer to consumer).
