KatadataOTO – Toyota Veloz Hybrid was officially launched at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025. The car is touted to become the backbone of sales in the future.

Moreover, the price offered is quite competitive, starting from IDR 299 million. This price tag is believed to be enough to entice customers in the country.

“The Toyota Veloz Hybrid is priced from IDR 299 million to 390 million, valid until the end of December 2025,” said Henry Tanoto, Vice President of Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) this afternoon.

This price tag makes it the cheapest hybrid car offered by Toyota. Previously, this title was held by the Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid.

In general, the Toyota Veloz Hybrid features a design similar to the ICE version. However, there is an additional hybrid emblem on the rear.

Entering the cabin, the difference with the ICE version is almost unnoticeable. However, upon closer inspection, there is an EV mode button behind the steering wheel.

This allows the driver to manually select the driving mode according to their needs.

The most noticeable change is, of course, in its powertrain. The car is equipped with a 1,500 cc 2NR-VEX engine.

The engine is then paired with an electric motor that draws power from an NMC battery. The embedded hybrid system is claimed to be the same as that in the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix and Yaris Cross.

Thus, its fuel consumption will remain efficient.

"Deliveries will be made in the first quarter. But the exact date will be informed later," he added.

This means Toyota Veloz owners can use it for the 2026 Eid homecoming.

Besides the Veloz Hybrid, Toyota also launched two other models, the bZ4X and the Urban Cruiser. Both cars were previously introduced at GIIAS 2025 and are believed to meet the public's driving needs.

Moreover, the Toyota bZ4X is already locally produced, showing the company's commitment to developing EVs in the country. This is because several local components are used.

“Both of these models are already available for purchase and will be delivered as soon as possible. So it's faster than the Toyota Veloz Hybrid,” he then emphasized.

For your information, the Toyota bZ4X is sold for IDR 799 million while the Urban Cruiser is priced at IDR 759 million,
