KatadataOTO – The weekend is here, it's time for you to perform maintenance on your beloved motorcycle. Especially for those who went on the Lebaran 2025 homecoming trip using a two-wheeled vehicle.

This is important to do to restore the motorcycle's performance, so it has optimal performance as before.

Considering that throughout the journey back to your hometown, your two-wheeled vehicle was forced to work hard. Thus, there is a potential for damage to occur.

“There are various types of damage, depending on the year and how the motorcycle is used,” said Wahyu Budhi, Training Analyst at PT Wahana Makmur Sejati, the main dealer for Honda motorcycles in Jakarta and Tangerang, to KatadataOTO on Friday (11/04).

Wahyu explained that there are several types of damage often found on two-wheeled vehicles after being used for the homecoming trip.

For example, damage to the wheel bearings. This happens because the owner often travels over damaged roads or potholes when returning to their hometown.

“What was previously not noticeably wobbly or loose becomes more apparent over time,” Wahyu continued.

Moreover, according to Wahyu, during the recent Lebaran 2025 homecoming, there were still many potholed roads along the Pantura route.

Then, unfavorable weather like rain during the recent homecoming also means several motorcycle components need extra attention.

For that reason, Wahyu suggests there are several mandatory components to be checked and periodically maintained after the motorcycle is used for the Lebaran 2025 homecoming.

For example, changing the engine or gear oil, checking the condition of the tires, air filter, brakes, chain, and sprockets on sport and underbone motorcycles.

As for automatic two-wheeled vehicles, you must service the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) section. Don't forget the electrical system must not be overlooked during inspection.
