New Version of Charged Maleo S Launched, Daily Rental Program Available

KatadataOTO – Electric motor Charged Maleo S officially launched for Indonesian consumers. This model is the latest version of Charged Maleo.

Charged Maleo S has sleek and compact dimensions, making it suitable for use in urban areas.

Previously, Charged Maleo itself was the biggest sales contributor for Charged Indonesia domestically.

Thus, the latest version is presented to meet consumers' needs for comfort and motor performance.

"Charged Maleo leads our product lineup in 2026, with several major new products set to follow for the Indonesian market," said CY, CEO of Charged Indonesia Group in his official statement, quoted on Thursday (01/29).

The added letter 'S' in the name Charged Maleo S refers to the word Superior. It means a significant improvement is given to the electric motor.

If the previous version had a range of 125 kilometers on a full battery, Charged Maleo S is claimed to have a range of 150 kilometers.

Charged Maleo S also comes with a new suspension setup that is claimed to be softer, making rides more comfortable for both the rider and passengers.

The latest technology is also embedded, such as Hill Start Assist and Regenerative Braking.

Just like other Charged product lines, Maleo S is integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. 

Riders or owners of the Charged Maleo S electric motor can monitor vehicle condition and information via a smart device, through the official app called In-Charged.

Owners need not worry about the charging network. Currently there are three locations: E-Shed Mampang (South Jakarta), E-Shed Bintaro (Tangerang) and Giga-Shed Cikupa.

"Fast charging infrastructure is a crucial part of building a strong electric motorcycle ecosystem in Indonesia. That's why we target around 300 charging locations by 2026," emphasized CY.

Speaking of cost, there are Charged Maleo S subscription packages starting from Rp 1.2 million per month with one battery or Rp 1.5 million per month with two batteries.

Meanwhile, specifically for online motorcycle taxis or OJOL there is a daily rental program of Rp 40 thousand (one battery) or Rp 52 thousand (one battery).
