KatadataOTO – 21 luxury motorcycles were seized by the Attorney General's Office. The vehicles are believed to be connected to a verdict-fixing case in the cooking oil corruption scandal involving Muhammad Arid Nuryanta, the Head of the South Jakarta District Court.
Reporting from Antara, at least three tow trucks transported dozens of luxury motorcycles, arriving at the building at 5:55 PM WIB. The vehicles were seized during a raid by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus).
The seized luxury motorcycles include various brands, namely Harley Davidson, Triumph, Vespa, Italjet, BMW, and Norton. In addition to the motorcycles, investigators from the Attorney General's Office also seized seven bicycles of various brands, including BMC and Lynskey.
"A comprehensive statement will be made later regarding who they belong to and their ownership, as the evidence obtained is not limited to these items. There is also money, documents, and so on," said Agung Harli Siregar, Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office.
It should be noted that in the case of alleged bribery for an acquittal in the CPO export facility corruption case at the Central Jakarta District Court, the Attorney General's Office has named four suspects. They are WG (Wahyu Gunawan), a junior civil clerk at the North Jakarta District Court, MS and AR as advocates, and MAN (Muhammad Arif Nuryanta), the Head of the South Jakarta District Court.
Investigators have even seized one unit each of a Ferrari Spider, Nissan GT-R, Lexus, and Mercedes Benz belonging to suspect AR. They also secured a sum of cash in various currencies from suspects MAN and WG.
It should be noted that Abdul Qohar, Director of Investigation at Jampidsus of the Attorney General's Office, revealed that MS and AR, as advocates, had given bribes and/or gratuities to MAN. The value is quite substantial, estimated to be around Rp 60 billion.
The bribe was given through WG so that the panel of judges hearing the alleged corruption case of providing export facilities for CPO or crude palm oil would deliver a not-guilty verdict.
Thus, the perpetrator could be freed from the potential punishment.
