Bogor Transportation Agency Buys 55 New Dirt Bikes for Operations

KatadataOTO – The Bogor Regency Government will purchase 55 trail bikes. The two-wheeled vehicles are intended to meet the operational needs of the Transportation Agency members.

Interestingly, the procurement funds for these vehicles come from efficiency savings made by the city government.

“We are converting the budget for ineffective food, drinks, and official travel into official vehicles for Transportation Agency personnel in 2025,” said Rudy Susmanto, Regent of Bogor, as reported by Antara (23/04).

He also mentioned that the allocation of funds for the motorcycle purchase is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025 concerning spending efficiency in the implementation of the state budget and regional budgets.

Although 55 trail bikes are being purchased, the number of units still does not meet the ideal requirement. The agency is considered to still need dozens more vehicles to operate optimally.

“Bogor Regency is quite large, and this is not just about maintaining traffic order and safety, but also about assisting the police in the field during disasters,” Rudy added. 

Meanwhile, Agus Ridhallah, Head of the Bogor Regency Transportation Agency, stated that the procurement of operational vehicles for personnel will be carried out in stages. However, he did not specify when the next stage would be.

“This is 55 units, but it's still not enough; there will need to be more additions because the Bogor Regency area is large. Yes, the target is 75 motorcycles so that all areas of Bogor Regency can be reached,” said Agus.

It should be noted that the area of Bogor Regency is 2,991.78 square kilometers. It contains 40 Districts, 19 Sub-districts, and 416 Villages. It is not surprising that many vehicles are needed to reach all areas.
