KatadataOTO – The construction of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A from MH Thamrin street to Kota is ongoing and continues to develop. The work has now entered several new points, so additional traffic management schemes have been implemented.
This facility will connect the MRT line from Lebak Bulus to Kota Tua Station via a 5.8 km underground track. On this route, there are seven new stations, and the construction progress has reached 49.99 percent.
However, the construction process will affect public mobility as there will be lane narrowing at certain hours. Therefore, the public is advised to adjust their travel schedules to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams.
For example, in the M.H. Thamrin street area towards and from Budi Kemuliaan. Lane narrowing will be implemented in this location from 10:00 PM to 04:00 AM (WIB).
Then there are also lane adjustments on M.H. Thamrin street, starting from in front of the Menara Thamrin Building to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). This is in addition to the section from the Sinarmas Building to in front of the Sari Pacific Hotel.
Road closures will also be implemented at several points to support the smooth construction of MRT Phase 2A. This measure will be applied on Museum street towards Medan Merdeka Barat until April 2026.
The road will be diverted via Abdul Muis, Tanah Abang Timur, Budi Kemuliaan, and then Medan Merdeka Barat.
A closure is also in place on Gajah Mada street, specifically from in front of the Duta Merlin Area to Hasyim Ashari Street, until October 2026.
Access to Hasyim Ashari from the Harmoni Intersection is diverted to Hayam Wuruk, with a U-turn at the Batu Ceper Intersection near Dunkin Donuts.
Furthermore, Pembangunan 1 street will be closed until October 2029. Traffic will be diverted via Alaydrus street.
Meanwhile, Pintu Besar Selatan street will only be accessible to TransJakarta, residents, and customers. Access towards Harmoni in the direction of Pesisir and Kota will be diverted via Pancoran street, Pintu Kecil, and the surrounding areas.
It is hoped that with these traffic management schemes, the construction can proceed optimally and be completed on time.
