KatadataOTO – Indonesian lubricant brand, PT Pertamina Lubricants has been a partner of the VR46 Racing Team since 2023. For your information, VR46 itself is a racing team managed by Valentino Rossi.

According to Pertamina Lubricants, the contract is valid for up to three years. When asked about the future of the partnership, they confirmed their intention to extend the contract with VR46.

“If there is no breach of contract, of course we want to (extend the contract),” said Werry Prayogi, President Director of PT Pertamina Lubricants during a press conference in Jakarta some time ago.

According to him, it has now become a new characteristic or identity in the eyes of consumers, that Pertamina is a partner of the MotoGP racing team, VR46 Racing Team.

Werry emphasized that Pertamina also appreciates the good cooperation between them and VR46, especially throughout their MotoGP journey.

Although considered to have faced various obstacles in 2024, according to Werry, there are strong reasons behind it. For example, the Desmosedici GP23 bike, which is claimed to be quite complex..

“Because Salucci said, yes, the bike is indeed a bit difficult. As you can see, he always falls behind at the start, but then he (Fabio Di Giannantonio) can get back to the front, which means his racing skills are good,” he said.

This year, Pertamina Lubricants believes the VR46 Racing Team can achieve better results. One of the reasons is that they are equipped with the latest bike from Ducati, the Desmosedici GP25.

“A factory bike, like the one used by Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez. Our rider, Diggia, is actually good, but last year the problem was with the Desmosedici GP23,” he said.

Additionally, Franco Morbidelli is back to using the bike from the previous season. So it won't take much time to adapt on the track in MotoGP 2025.

This has boosted Pertamina Lubricants' sales, which are even claimed to have increased compared to the previous period.

“Now our product has also become top of mind (for consumers),” he asserted.
