KatadataOTO – The new car market in Indonesia is starting to show some positive performance. Especially throughout this past June 2025.
Citing data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), last month there were 61,647 four-wheeled vehicles delivered from dealers to consumers (retail).
If calculated, the achievement above experienced a slight increase of 0.6 percent from 61,339 units in May 2025.
However, when discussing shipments from the factory to dealers, or wholesales, there was a decrease in June 2025. From an initial 60,613 units, it dropped to only 57,760 units.
This means that wholesales of new four-wheeled vehicles in the sixth month of 2025 decreased by about 4.7 percent.
On the other hand, Toyota is still at the top of the 10 best-selling car brands in the first half of 2025. The Japanese manufacturer recorded 126,920 units.
Daihatsu, as Toyota's compatriot, also managed to maintain its second-place position with 66,716 units.
The figure above is far ahead of Honda in third place, which only recorded 39,193 units during the first six months of 2025.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi still occupies the fourth spot of the 10 best-selling car brands in the first half of 2025. The manufacturer with the three-diamond logo recorded 31,445 units.
Right below it is Suzuki, after successfully selling 27,769 four-wheeled vehicles at retail in the first semester.
In a different position, BYD is not to be outdone in the competition for the 10 best-selling car brands in the country. The Electric Vehicle (EV) producer recorded 13,705 units.
Meanwhile, Hyundai follows in seventh position. The South Korean manufacturer sold 11,583 units in the country.
