BYD Registers New Car in Indonesia, Allegedly Denza D9 PHEV

Then, in the registered design, there is an additional component right at the edge of the car's roof resembling a Lidar sensor. This feature has been embedded in the Denza D9 DM-i.

Speaking of the powertrain, the Denza D9 DM-i will be equipped with a 1,500 cc engine, capable of producing 154 hp. Then there is an additional electric motor with 268 hp.

Its battery capacity is quite large at 39.9 kWh. Without the assistance of the conventional engine, the Denza D9 PHEV can travel a distance of 190 km-200 km (CLTC), while its comprehensive cruising range is claimed to reach 1,100 km.

If launched in Indonesia, the Denza D9 DM-i will add to the PHEV options, which will soon be joined by the SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) Chery Tiggo 8 CSH (Chery Super Hybrid).

The Chinese manufacturer claims it wants to change consumer perception of PHEV price tags, which have been considered high. The Tiggo 8 CSH even has the potential to be sold for under IDR 1 billion.

With competitive prices and an increasing variety of models, it is not impossible that Chinese manufacturers could make PHEVs popular and a choice for consumers interested in buying environmentally friendly vehicles.
