KatadataOTO – Chinese car manufacturers successfully reap sweet results in 2025. It is even claimed they earned a lot of profit last year.

Citing Carnewschina on Wednesday (28/01), the Chinese automotive industry reported total production of 34.78 million vehicle units in 2025.

According to Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, the above figure increased by about 10 percent compared to 2024.

“Total revenue for this sector last year reached 11.1 billion yuan (Rp 26.6 trillion),” wrote the online media.

Furthermore, the total indicates an increase of up to 7.1 percent compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, the cost of goods sold across the industry reached 9.8 billion yuan, equivalent to Rp 23.5 trillion.

A quite positive achievement. It shows China's dominance in the automotive industry, especially in undeniably strong electric cars.

In a similar report, several Chinese four-wheeled vehicle manufacturers were the largest contributors in 2025.

Take BYD, for example, which contributed the most. They supplied 4.6 million vehicles.

Then followed by Geely Automobile with about 3 million new cars. Then there is Chery, recording 2.6 million units.

Finally, Great Wall Motor did not want to fall behind in recording positive sales. They successfully logged up to 1.3 million units.

On the other hand, several new brands also contributed in 2025. For example, Leapmotor shipped 596 thousand units.

Xpeng Motor also contributed up to 429 thousand units. Not to be outdone, Li Auto with 406 thousand new cars.

Nio managed to contribute a figure of up to 326 thousand four-wheeled vehicles. Thus it is no surprise that Chinese car manufacturers can reap many profits.

Indonesia Flooded with Chinese Products

Meanwhile, Indonesia is one of the target countries for Chinese car manufacturers to market their products.

Chery is also no less aggressive in enticing consumers in the archipelago. They even launched several sub-brands, namely Jaecoo and Lepas.

Changan, Xpeng, GWM, Ora, MG, Tank, as well as DFSK are also Chinese car manufacturers that enliven the automotive market in Indonesia.
