KatadataOTO – May 2025 was a difficult month for manufacturers from China. Their new car sales dropped quite sharply.
Jetour was the hardest hit. The brand from China has spoken out about the situation it is currently experiencing.
“Sales fluctuations are a normal part of automotive market dynamics,” said Moch. Ranggy Rahadiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia to KatadataOTO, Thursday (12/06).
According to Ranggy, there are many factors that influence Jetour's new car sales in a certain period.
Including, for example, macroeconomic conditions to the public's purchasing power after certain moments. Such as long holiday periods or festive seasons that absorb a lot of spending.
“However, this is not a sole indicator of performance, but rather part of our initial consolidation strategy in the Indonesian market,” he continued.
He then explained that Jetour will focus on building a strong foundation through its product policy.
In addition, they also want to organize and create a more targeted distribution system in the future.
“Gaikindo data provides valuable input for studying market trends and consumer preferences. While also strengthening sales, marketing, and after-sales service strategies,” Ranggy affirmed.
He further stated that Jetour will monitor market movements, especially for sport utility vehicle (SUV) models.
So that it can provide the best initiatives to allow more consumers to experience owning a Jetour car.
As a reminder, according to combined data from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), Jetour shipped 20 units of their four-wheeled vehicles from the factory to dealers (wholesales) last month.
This number is the same as the achievement in April 2025. So there was no change at all.
Meanwhile, when compared to February and March 2025, it is very different. Because in those two months, Jetour shipped 82 and 64 units, respectively.
In total, the wholesales for the four-wheeled vehicle brand from China in 2025 is 186 units
On the other hand, the decline in Jetour's car sales is very noticeable on the retail side, or from dealers to consumers in the country.
Still based on the same data, in May 2025 Jetour was only able to sell 11 of its products.
