BYD Sealion 05 EV is registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property and could potentially appear at GIIAS 2025.
Potential customers can choose between two battery options, 50 kWh and 60.9 kWh, offering a range of 430 km and 520 km respectively, based on the CLTC testing method.
The Sealion 05 EV is equipped with the God’s Eye C and DiPilot 100 driving safety systems, which are claimed to assist the driver, especially when driving on highways or toll roads.
The system is a more affordable alternative to Lidar sensors.
The BYD Sealion 05 EV is also available in a DM-i or PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) variant. However, if it is introduced in Indonesia, the EV version is more likely to be launched.
Considering that BYD's entire vehicle lineup currently consists of BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles), this would support the government's commitment to accelerating the energy transition.
If launched in the country, the BYD Sealion 05 EV has the potential to become a new competitor to the Neta X electric car, which is sold in the Rp 400 million range.
