Jakarta Mobile Driving License Service Locations in Early January 2025, with Dispensation

KatadataOTO – After the 2025 New Year celebrations, Polda Metro Jaya is once again providing a number of services. One of them is the Jakarta Mobile SIM service on Thursday (2/1).

This is an opportunity for the public, as they can renew their expired card-shaped driving documents.

This is because the police are providing a dispensation. So you can take advantage of the leniency from Polda Metro Jaya.

“For SIM holders whose validity period expires on January 1, 2025, they can carry out the renewal until January 3, 2025, with the renewal mechanism,” they wrote on the Instagram account @tmcpoldametro.

You just need to visit one of the Jakarta Mobile SIM service locations, such as Citraland Mall. Then register at the provided counter.

Quoted from the Instagram account @tmcpoldametro, the Jakarta Mobile SIM service schedule is from 08.00-14.00 WIB. Residents can also arrive earlier to avoid queues.

For your information, a driver's license will expire five years from the date of issuance. The public is advised not to be late in renewing it.

Because if you are even one day late, you are required to follow the issuance process at the Satpas Daan Mogot office, West Jakarta.

This provision is stated in the National Police Chief Regulation number 5 of 2021 article 4. Furthermore, Law number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation article 85 paragraph 2.

It should be noted that renewing a driver's license cannot be done just like that. There are steps and documents that need to be considered.
