KatadataOTO – A number of Chinese car brands also felt the impact of the decline in public purchasing power that was still occurring in June 2025.

Based on data from Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries), BYD (Build Your Dreams) maintained its first position with retail sales (dealer to consumer) reaching 2,172 units.

However, this figure decreased by 17.7 percent or 467 units compared to the previous month's retail sales of 2,639 units.

BYD's premium sub-brand, Denza, actually experienced an increase of 41.4 percent or 330 units, from 798 units in May to 1,128 units throughout June 2025.

It should be noted that Denza currently only sells one car in the luxury electric MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) segment, namely the Denza D9.

This year, they are even said to be introducing a new model targeting premium consumers, the Denza Z9 GT.

On the other hand, Wuling's new car sales fell by 24.8 percent (364 units) from 1,465 units to 1,101 units. Meanwhile, Aion managed to record satisfactory results, nearly doubling to 747 units in June 2025.

Another Chinese brand, BAIC, still has a long way to go to meet its target. Some time ago, they stated their intention to sell around 50-60 units of the latest SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) crossover model, the X55-II.

However, in June 2025, BAIC's retail sales figure was only 48 units. Cumulatively, from January to June 2025, BAIC has only delivered 241 vehicles to consumers.

Below, KatadataOTO summarizes the retail sales figures for Chinese cars in June 2025, based on the Gaikindo data we received.

It should be noted that the figures below represent retail sales or delivery from dealers to consumers, not wholesales, i.e., from factory to dealer.
