KatadataOTO – Although still one of the new brands, BYD and Denza have become one of the market leaders in the Indonesian automotive world. This is proven by the high sales they have recorded in the last seven months.
The two brands have successfully captured 53.8 percent of the EV market share. Both brands have recorded total sales of more than 22,600 units.
The total consists of 16,400 units for BYD, while Denza recorded more than 6,200 units. This achievement shows the high public trust in BYD's quality and innovation in the Indonesian automotive market.
This achievement makes BYD the sixth-largest car manufacturer in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Denza holds the 13th position.
“Thank you to all parties who have jointly pushed for the realization of a green mobility future in Indonesia,” said Luther Panjaitan, Head of Public & Government Relations at PT BYD Motor Indonesia (14/08).
At the GIIAS 2025 event, BYD and Denza received a positive reception from the public. This was proven by the large number of orders placed during the exhibition.
Impressively, from that event, the two managed to record 4,195 vehicle orders.
“We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm of the Indonesian people for BYD during GIIAS 2025. This support and trust are a great motivation for us to continue to present the best products and experiences,” added Lunther.
Although not detailed, the large number of orders is believed to be inseparable from the presence of their new product, the BYD Atto 1. The presence of this model is indeed very attractive due to its highly competitive price.
It should be noted that this model comes with battery options of 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh. They offer a range of 300 km and 380 km, respectively, based on the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) testing method.
The BYD Atto 1 is claimed to be able to produce 55 kW or 73 hp of power, while its peak torque reaches 135 Nm. Although it is quite small, the car is equipped with two electric motors, allowing it to accelerate from a standstill to 50 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
The vehicle can be pushed to a maximum speed of 130 km/h.
