Despite no official announcement yet, salespeople say the price of the BYD Atto 1 will be adjusted without incentives.
KatadataOTO – The government has stopped incentives for imported electric cars as of early 2026. This could potentially cause the price of the BYD Atto 1 to increase.
It should be noted that the lowest type of BYD Atto 1 is currently sold for around IDR 199 million on the road in Jakarta. Meanwhile, the top Premium variant is offered at IDR 235 million.
Thanks to the help of imported electric car incentives, the BYD Atto 1 has become one of the most competitively priced Electric Vehicles (EVs) in its class.
However, after the incentives end, BYD must locally assemble its vehicle lineup in accordance with the number of Completely Built Up (CBU) units sold to consumers.
Although the manufacturer has not yet announced a price increase, a BYD salesperson revealed that the price of the BYD Atto 1 will increase due to the discontinuation of incentives.
“If it's the 2026 model year (BYD Atto 1), the price will be different again, the increase will be high,” said a BYD salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO recently.
For your information, the BYD Atto 1 Standard variant was previously offered for IDR 195 million when it was launched at GIIAS 2025.
However, in November 2025, the price of the lowest type was adjusted for several reasons, one of which was currency fluctuations, considering the units are still imported.
“The price list for the 2026 model year BYD Atto 1 is not out yet, it could be over IDR 200 million,” said the salesperson.
Roughly calculated, the lowest type of BYD Atto 1 has a recorded Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) of IDR 245 million.
That figure could be subject to a 50 percent import duty, causing the price of the BYD Atto 1 without incentives to jump to around IDR 367.5 million.
Other BYD products like the Atto 3 have an NJKB of IDR 371 million and IDR 398 million. If import duties are added, the figures become IDR 556 million and IDR 597 million.
This will also affect the model from BYD's sub-brand, the Denza D9, which has an NJKB of IDR 739 million and is offered at IDR 950 million.
When import tariffs are applied, the price will approach that of its closest competitor, the Toyota Alphard HEV, becoming IDR 1.4 billion.
