KatadataOTO – Throughout June 2025, BYD Group successfully sold at least 377,628 vehicles. This number is greater than the wholesale car sales in Indonesia, which only reached 316,981 units.

In fact, their achievement was not much different compared to May 2025. However, when compared to the same period last year, there was a growth of 11 percent.

Electric vehicles are claimed to be the backbone with an achievement of 206,884 units or about 54.8 percent. Meanwhile, Plug-in Hybrids (PHEV) recorded a figure of 170,744 units, contributing 45.2 percent of total sales.

It should be noted that this is the third month for BYD where its electric car sales exceeded 50 percent. In addition, this is the second consecutive month their sales have exceeded 200 thousand units.

Not only that, vehicle exports also reached 90,049 units, an increase of 233.6 percent from only 30,014 units in June 2024.

These sales include BYD-branded cars as well as all other brands such as, Denza, FCB, and Yangwang.

  • BYD: 336,255 units, up 3.5 percent YoY
  • FCB: 18,903 units, up 605 percent YoY
  • Denza: 15,783 units, up 28.6 percent YoY
  • Yangwang: 205 units, down 50.1 percent YoY

It should be noted that passenger vehicle sales in the first half of 2025 reached 2,113,271 units. This number grew by 31.5 percent compared to the same period last year, which only reached 1,607,145 units.

However, this achievement is still quite far from their initial target of 5.5 million vehicles for 2025. Meanwhile, BYD's global sales in 2024 were 4.27 million units.

Meanwhile, the commercial vehicle division, including buses, successfully increased by 459 percent from 5,838 to 32,683 units in the first half of 2025 (January to June).

Thanks to this, sales of all models, including passenger, commercial, and buses, reached 382,585 units in June.

Meanwhile, BYD Indonesia has not publicly announced its sales for June 2025. However, looking at the achievement in May 2025, the record is quite good.

In that month, their wholesale sales reached 2,700 units. Meanwhile, for the period from January to May 2025, sales amounted to 12,013 units.
