KatadataOTO – Denza has once again brought its newest unit to Indonesia. At the IIMS 2025 event, the manufacturer from China presented the Denza Z9 GT.

However, this electric vehicle is not yet for sale. This is because BYD Indonesia is still conducting some research.

“We are still conducting a comprehensive study of the market. Because we see the technology is still relatively new,” said Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing PR & Government Relations for BYD Indonesia at JIExpo Kemayoran (13/02).

Although it has not been officially sold for the domestic market, he did not rule out the possibility of it hitting Indonesian roads.

“Of course, if there is demand from the public, it is not impossible (to be sold),” explained Luther.

The Denza Z9 GT is a sports sedan with a fairly large body. The unit's design language is like a shooting brake with smooth lines drawn to the rear.

The Z9 GT's captivating appearance is thanks to the design by renowned European designer Wolfgang Egger. Before joining BYD, Egger was a designer for Alfa Romeo, Audi, and Lamborghini.

One of the advantages of the Denza Z9 GT electric car is its ability to perform a nearly 360-degree turn. Unlike the YanWang U8, the Z9 GT's Tank-Turn process is assisted by rear wheels that can steer.

The feature above was demonstrated at the Denza booth at JIExpo Kemayoran. As a result, it became an interesting spectacle for the exhibition visitors.

In terms of dimensions, the Z9 GT has a length of 5,180 mm, a width of 1,990 mm, and a height of 1,480 mm. Meanwhile, the vehicle's wheelbase reaches 3,125 mm.

Despite having a body over 5 meters long. However, the Z9's turning radius is only 4.62 meters.

The appearance of the Denza Z9 GT in Indonesia is not the first time. It was previously showcased during the launch of the Denza D9, a competitor to the Toyota Alphard.

In fact, at that time, it was stated that the Z9 GT would be the second product from Denza in Indonesia. So it is only a matter of time before it enlivens the nation's roads.

As an electric car, the Denza Z9 GT relies on the E3 platform which uses three drive motors. According to the manufacturer's claims, the vehicle can produce a power output of 710 kW or 952 hp.
