Estimated Price Range of the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Registered in Indonesia

KatadataOTO – Toyota has started developing several new electric vehicle lines alongside the bZ series. Although the majority are sold exclusively in China, this time there is the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV (Electric Vehicle) which will be offered to several other countries.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is a twin of the Suzuki e Vitara. Both models use the same base, with the fascia being the main distinguishing feature.

This electric car from Toyota will debut at the Brussels Motor Show 2025 from January 10-20, 2025.

Although PT TAM (Toyota Astra Motor) is still silent about the model's arrival, its name has been registered in the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2025 concerning the Basis for Imposing Motor Vehicle Tax, Motor Vehicle Title Transfer Fees, and Heavy Equipment Tax for 2025.

In Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 7, there is only one type of Toyota Urban Cruiser EV registered, namely the Urban Cruiser A/T (SZ181CR-ZG12) with an NJKB (Motor Vehicle Sales Value) of around Rp 616 million.

It should be noted that this figure does not include other costs such as taxes. So, the price of the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is likely to be in the range of Rp 600 million and above.

Upon further investigation, a number of Toyota salespeople claim the model cannot be ordered yet.

“It can't be ordered yet, we will inform you when it is available. There is no information yet (regarding the launch),” said a Toyota salesperson when contacted by KatadataOTO.

In line with this, another Toyota salesperson was also reluctant to say much about the Urban Cruiser EV and claimed not to know about its debut time in the country.

“It won't be at GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show), it's not coming this year,” he said.

It should be noted that Toyota will indeed participate in the GIIAS 2025 event and will bring its flagship lineup as well as new models, including hybrid and pure electric cars.

Besides the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, there are several other options that might be introduced, such as the Veloz Hybrid and Vios Hybrid.

The Veloz Hybrid has been eagerly awaited by domestic consumers who like eco-friendly MPVs (Multi-Purpose Vehicles) with a price tag below the Kijang Innova Zenix. There is a high chance this model will be launched in the country first.
