The price of the Geely Starray EM-i is likely to be around Rp 408 million, with its registered NJKB at Rp 250 million.
KatadataOTO – The Geely Starray EM-i Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) Geely has started to be offered to Indonesian consumers at GIIAS 2025.
However, there is no official price for the hybrid car yet. Geely revealed that the estimate is under Rp 499 million.
This means it is lower than Geely's debut model in Indonesia, the EX5 electric car, which is sold for Rp 505 million.
“We will announce the official price later at the end of this October,” said Yusuf Anshori, Brand Director of Geely Auto Indonesia, when met in Jakarta some time ago.
Geely is known to have registered the model on the Jakarta Samsat-PKB website.
There is one model with the code P145 MAX (4X2) AT which is believed to be the Geely Starray EM-i.
The recorded NJKB for the Geely Starray EM-i is Rp 250 million. It should be noted that this figure is not the final selling price as it does not include other costs such as taxes.
For comparison, the NJKB for the top variant of the Geely EX5 is Rp 347 million. Meanwhile, its current selling price has a difference of Rp 158 million, making it Rp 505 million on the road in Jakarta.
Using that assumption, the Geely Starray EM-i's price could potentially be offered at Rp 408 million.
The Geely Starray EM-i could replace the Chery Tiggo 8 CSH's position as the cheapest PHEV in Indonesia.
In addition, the Geely Starray EM-i has also started to be assembled locally, allowing the hybrid car to be sold at a competitive price.
It should be noted that the Geely Starray EM-i is being assembled locally before the EX5. This is because the EX5 is still receiving imported electric car incentives from the government until the end of 2025.
So the Chinese manufacturer chose to supply the Geely EX5 as a Completely Built Up (CBU) unit before assembling it next year, when the subsidy program is stopped.
Geely is also confident it can meet the number of units that must have Completely Knocked Down (CKD) status in 2026.
After the Geely EX5 and Starray EM-i, they plan to release the Xingyuan electric car and two gasoline-engine vehicle models to complete their portfolio.
