Toyota once again won the Lifetime Achievement Award for the 12th time at the TEI 2025 event.
KatadataOTO – Toyota Indonesia has once again received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ministry of Trade thanks to its export achievement which recently surpassed three million units.
The appreciation was given at the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia event, themed "Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries."
This is the 12th time Toyota has received an award in the same category from the government, as a form of appreciation for their export achievements.
It should be noted that the Primaniyarta Award in the Lifetime Achievement Category is given to exporters who have contributed significantly to increasing export value.
Toyota's journey in Indonesia began with imports, before eventually carrying out large-scale production of engines, components, and complete vehicles.
Toyota has been exporting vehicles since 1987, starting with the third-generation Kijang up to the electrified Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV lines.
The award for this export achievement was given to PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“Thank you to the people of Indonesia, consumers and customers, the sales network, and all stakeholders who have supported the development of the domestic automotive industry so that it can become one of the backbones of economic growth,” said Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT TMMIN in an official broadcast, quoted on Thursday (16/10).
The manufacturing industry itself is one of the sectors that serves as a pillar of the nation's economic growth.
Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the manufacturing industry contributed 18.98 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
It then contributed 0.9 percent to the total national economic growth, which reached 5.03 percent in 2024.
Additionally, the automotive industry boosts tax revenue through Value Added Tax (VAT) and local taxes such as Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and Vehicle Title Transfer Fee (BBNKB).
Speaking of Toyota's exports in the January-September 2025 period, Gaikindo data shows that this T-badged factory contributed 57 percent of the total national vehicle exports.
In detail, the figure reached 218,162 units. To give an idea, the total vehicle exports in that period were 384,382 units.
The exported models also vary, from the Fortuner, Rush, Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid to the Agya.
