KatadataOTO – A well-known taxi company in Indonesia, Bluebird, has officially added another car model from Honda to its fleet. After the Mobilio, this time they chose the BR-V.

The LSUV (Low Sport Utility Vehicle) used is the lowest variant of the BR-V, the S MT (Manual Transmission). In this initial phase, 1,000 units have been supplied to Bluebird.

This is an interesting decision because previously, many people assumed that Mobilio sales began to decline when the model was used as a taxi fleet, about a year after its launch.

Eventually, PT HPM (Honda Prospect Motor) discontinued sales of the Mobilio in 2024.

Nevertheless, Honda Indonesia asserts they are optimistic that the BR-V will remain in demand in the future.

“We believe that using the BR-V as a taxi fleet will not create a negative image,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM to KatadataOTO, on Thursday (08/05).

He emphasized that the BR-V was chosen as a taxi fleet because it is considered suitable and has several advantages for fleet needs.

For example, a spacious and comfortable cabin, efficient fuel consumption, and proven durability.

Besides that, Billy believes the decline in Mobilio sales was actually influenced by market trends. At that time, consumers were said to be shifting to 7-seater SUVs.

“(Because they) offer higher ground clearance and a spacious cabin like the BR-V. It was not caused by its use as a taxi fleet,” Billy asserted.

For your information, there are currently several passenger cars being used as taxi fleets. Besides the BR-V, there is the Toyota Transmover, which is based on the latest Avanza.

Meanwhile, the electric cars BYD M6 and Aion Y Plus are used as premium online taxi fleets. There is also the Denza D9, which is rented out by a taxi company.

The Honda BR-V will continue to be offered to domestic consumers with more variants, including the special N7X edition.

Regarding the price, the lowest BR-V variant is sold for around IDR 297.3 million, while the top variant, the N7X Prestige with Honda Sensing, is priced at around IDR 370.4 million as of May 2025.

This figure is the on-the-road price for Jakarta. However, it is subject to change at any time without prior notice.
