Chery X Design Registered in Indonesia, Debuting This Year

KatadataOTO – Chery X, Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that briefly appeared at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week or GJAW 2025 is now registered in Indonesia.

Based on KatadataOTO's research, the Chery X design is listed in the Official Industrial Design Report No. 9/DI/2026.

Chery X is attached with application number A00202508615 by Chery Automobile located in Anhui, China.

Seen in the registered report, the Chery X design still resembles a double-cabin pickup as previously shown at the GJAW 2025 event.

However, there is a closure at the truck bed, making it look more like a 7-seat configured SUV.

The arrival of Chery's new product seems to be getting closer. It should be noted that this Chinese manufacturer has already announced the arrival of seven new models for the Indonesian market.

One of them is a multi 6-seater or 7-seater SUV, a strong indication of Chery X's arrival for domestic consumers.

However, it is not yet known when Chery X will be officially sold to customers. But PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) disclosed that the new product launch will be carried out gradually starting at the Indonesia International Motor Show or IIMS 2026.

For information, Chery X previously debuted as the Chery T1Tp Concept prototype in its home country. 

Chery X or T1TP is called a multi-SUV expected to become a flexible and functional mobility solution for family users.

Research on the development of Chery X was conducted in various countries including Indonesia, Mexico, and Thailand.

Chery X adopts a Mobile Home concept that offers a spacious and comfortable cabin. However, this model can also be transformed into a double-cab pickup.

There is no complete information regarding Chery X's technical specifications yet. However, Chery assures that the production and prototype versions will be launched in the third quarter of this year.

The signal of Chery X's presence is also evident from the Multi 6/7 Seater SUV name presented by the manufacturer in its new model presentation in Indonesia.

It appears that Chery X will target both individual consumers and fleets that need a pickup vehicle.
