Chery plans to focus more on developing the hybrid car market, as it is predicted to grow significantly.

KatadataOTO – Chery sees that the 2026 hybrid market will experience a significant increase compared to previous years. This is because the government withdrew incentives for electric vehicles, causing prices to rise.
This situation also makes the public interested in looking at other technologies as alternatives. One of them is the hybrid car, which has recently been quite popular.
“Besides the rise in electric car prices, people have started to become more open to other technologies. They are looking for fuel-efficient vehicles without compromising performance,” said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director of the Chery Business Unit a while ago.
According to him, the situation is actually quite normal because several markets in other countries have experienced similar circumstances.
“The global trend is also shifting toward hybrid and PHEV,” he added.
This leads Chery to plan to launch more hybrid vehicles in the archipelago.
“In 2026 we will also intensify the launch of the Chery Super Hybrid variant in Indonesia. It is indeed one of the best technologies we currently have,” he added later.
Nevertheless, he assures that Chery will continue to push EV sales by launching several new models.
“We remain consistent in developing New Energy Vehicles. So they include hybrids, PHEVs, and EVs,” he added.
's commitment to developing the environmentally-friendly vehicle market in Indonesia will be demonstrated at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026. They are committed to launching a new car featuring Chery Super Hybrid technology at the event.
Unfortunately, they did not provide detailed information about the car that will be unveiled at IIMS.
It was previously reported that Chery will launch at least seven new models in Indonesia. These products will be introduced gradually and will comprise various technologies.
Not only hybrids, they also assure they will bring electric cars as well as Internal Combustion Engine vehicles. Thus, the public is expected to more easily adapt to their individual needs.
