KatadataOTO – Brio is still the backbone of Honda sales in May 2025. The LCGC is claimed to be the best-selling model with a total of 2,574 units delivered from dealers to consumers.

This figure is claimed to be 9 percent higher than the previous month's achievement. This positive record was also achieved by several other models.

Honda HR-V recorded a growth of 9 percent with a total of 866 units. Another model that saw an increase was the WR-V, which rose by 18 percent from the previous period to 567 units.

Meanwhile, the Honda BR-V contributed 498 units, and CBU models like the Honda CR-V also recorded significant growth with total sales of 158 units.

It was previously reported that Honda's May sales in 2025 experienced growth compared to the previous month. During that period, they sold 4,750 units, an increase of 4.4 percent compared to the previous month's achievement of only 4,539 units.

However, that figure is still lower than in May 2024. At that time, they successfully sold 7,805 vehicles to customers, which is 39.3 percent higher than their achievement in 2025.

Honda did not deny the pressure it is currently facing. They revealed the cause is that the domestic automotive market is still considered unstable.

“Approaching the second quarter of 2025, the automotive market still faces challenges from the economic side and consumer purchasing power,” said Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor to KatadataOTO (16/06).

He also revealed that Honda's low sales in May were also influenced by production adjustments for the recently launched Honda HR-V. It is hoped that this situation will recover soon.

“The hope is that sales can increase again in June, and we will continue to monitor market conditions going forward,” he added.

It was previously reported that Honda made vehicle production adjustments before the launch of the Honda HR-V e:HEV.

The car is equipped with a 1,500 cc engine to produce 104 hp and 127 Nm of torque. The e:HEV type has an additional electric motor that provides an extra 129 hp and a peak torque of 253 Nm.

The car is expected to sell 2,000 units per month and become one of the company's backbones in the future.
