KatadataOTO – Various strategies are used by manufacturers to attract consumers. One of them is lowering the selling price of vehicles.

This practice is commonly done by manufacturers from China. They price their products as low as possible.

By doing so, it is hoped that people will be interested in buying these four-wheeled vehicles from China.

On the other hand, Japanese manufacturers are not interested in joining the price war for cars in the country.

“So, until now, we have no intention of cutting the prices of our models. There might be sales programs, but cutting prices, no,” said Donny Saputra, Deputy Managing Director of Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) in Senayan, Jakarta some time ago.

Donny stated that Suzuki has been selling cars to consumers in Indonesia for decades. Therefore, he believes that a price war is not the only way.

Moreover, the manufacturer with the S logo has made massive investments in the country. So they want to continue to maintain consumer trust.

According to Donny, consumer trust is far more important than Suzuki joining a price war for short-term gain.

“We strive not only to provide products that have value, in terms of price and benefits received by consumers,” continued Donny.

He then revealed that Suzuki always emphasizes how they present quality cars.

Then, making vehicles that suit the needs of the Indonesian people. So they can be trusted by loyal consumers.

“So from that side, we certainly consider things that might reduce costs for consumers. But without reducing their trust,” Donny affirmed.

In the future, Suzuki is determined to continue making various innovations on their new cars that will be launched.

Through this step, it is hoped that Suzuki's four-wheeled vehicles can be relied upon by the public for various activities.

“With the models we deliver that have high value, it is certainly hoped that we can win the hearts of consumers in Indonesia,” he concluded.

Just a reminder, several Chinese car manufacturers are slashing prices. Starting from Chery, MG to BAIC.

The price cuts made by these three producers are insane. It can reach tens or even hundreds of millions.

Making the competition in the four-wheeled vehicle industry, especially electric cars and hybrids, unhealthy.
