KatadataOTO – PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales affirms that they will soon launch their first electric vehicle in the country. Although they did not provide detailed timing, the Japanese manufacturer is expected to use the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2026 for the debut.

IIMS itself often serves as a venue for Suzuki to launch various flagship products in the country.

"Regarding the E-Vitara, we will provide information soon regarding orders, pricing and other details, in less than a week," said Dony Saputra, Deputy Managing Director Sales and Marketing 4W, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales.

The arrival of the e-Vitara is certainly an important note since they have not yet entered the electric car segment. Thus, it is quite possible that competition in this segment will become tighter than before.

In fact, the selection of Japanese-brand electric cars has been rather limited. Thus, Chinese manufacturers have also taken the opportunity to enter the country.

Unfortunately, Suzuki eVitara will still enter Indonesia as a CBU import. Therefore, its price may be somewhat high as the government is set to stop electric vehicle incentives.

It is highly likely that the vehicle will be brought directly from India as one of the manufacturing countries. They have also recorded sending units to various countries, including Europe, and have received a positive response.

It should be noted that the Suzuki eVitara is equipped with an LFP battery with a capacity of 49 kWh, claiming a range of up to 346 km on a full charge.

If you want to drive farther, you can choose the version with a 61 kWh battery. Thanks to that, the car can cover 428 km using the WLTP method.

The Suzuki eVitara also comes with two drivetrain options. The first is 2WD (Wheel Drive) with a single electric motor, and the second is 4WD All Grip e-system.

Unfortunately, Suzuki is still reluctant to disclose the official price of the product.
