KatadataOTO – Chinese manufacturer JAC Motors has officially launched in the Indonesian market through the Indomobil Group. The brand focuses on offering electric-powered commercial vehicles.

The first three models introduced are the JAC Trekker T9 EV, Metromover N35 EV and Urbanmover N90 EV.

JAC Motors stated that they want to support the government in promoting the use of renewable energy vehicles.

“We have adjusted the specifications for Indonesian roads. It's not just Completely Built Up (CBU), but already Completely Knocked Down (CKD or locally assembled),” said Reggie Kurnia, Chief Operating Officer of Indomobil JAC Motors in Jakarta, on Tuesday (19/08).

He explained in more detail that the Trekker T9 EV will be the first double cabin pickup in the country to offer electric power.

Equipped with an 88 kWh battery, the Trekker T9 EV can travel 449 kilometers on a single full charge.

Its electric motor is claimed to produce 294 hp and a peak torque of 340 Nm, capable of tackling various road conditions, including off-road.

The next product is the Metromover M35 EV. This light-duty electric truck is said to be able to carry a load of two tons or 2,000 kilograms.

Unlike the Trekker T9 EV, this truck is available in three battery capacity options: 38 kWh, 49 kWh, and 63 kWh.

They offer ranges of 180 kilometers, 230 kilometers, and 297 kilometers, respectively.

Lastly is the Urbanmover N90 EV. This model has the largest load capacity at 6,000 kilograms.

Equipped with a 106.95 kWh battery, the Urbanmover N90 EV can travel up to 250 kilometers while carrying a full capacity load.

Two variants are offered based on their wheelbase. The short wheelbase measures 3,365 mm, while the long wheelbase is 4,175 mm.

“All three of our product lines already use CATL batteries and support AC and DC charging (fast charging),” said Reggie.

Unfortunately, there is no information yet on the prices of the three vehicles from JAC Motors. However, Reggie confirmed that the units are already available for order for interested customers.
