The Jaecoo J8 will soon be launched for Indonesian consumers this year, and KatadataOTO has summarized its specifications.
KatadataOTO – Jaecoo, a sub-brand of Chery Group focusing on premium SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicle), is set to launch the J8 AWD (All Wheel Drive) this year.
While they brought the J7 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) to IIMS (Indonesia International Motor Show), the J8 in Indonesia will still have a conventional engine without hybrid technology.
This joint venture brand with Jaguar Land Rover adopts the design language and a number of capable technologies embedded in the Range Rover.
However, it is rumored to be offered at a more competitive price, potentially under Rp 1 billion.
“The design and details inside the J8 are also inspired by the Range Rover,” said Rian Derdiean Tirto, Head of Product for Jaecoo Indonesia in Sentul, on Monday (16/05).
On the Jaecoo J8 AWD, the interior uses Nappa Leather material, which adds to the model's luxurious feel.
The main thing Jaecoo wants to highlight are the features and technology in the J8, one of which is Ardis, or the Jaecoo J8's AWD system.
Rian explained that it has several functions like four-wheel vectoring, which helps the driver tackle various terrains, including off-road.
“Each wheel can adjust individually to distribute torque. Typically, 4WD (Four Wheel Drive) only divides power between the front and rear,” Rian continued.
According to Rian, this technology is also used in the Jaguar Land Rover vehicle lineup. So its quality is assured.
Ardis is claimed to help maintain vehicle stability, especially when cornering at relatively high speeds.
To enhance the driving pleasure, there are seven driving modes that make the car more flexible and adaptive to road conditions.
For more details, here KatadataOTO summarizes the specifications of the Jaecoo J8 AWD that will soon launch in Indonesia.
