KatadataOTO – The practice of price wars is still a mainstay weapon for manufacturers. Especially for manufacturers from China.
They offer very low prices to consumers in the country. Especially for electric and hybrid cars.
Price wars are also considered inappropriate. Because they can bring many negative impacts.
However, Jaecoo has its own view on this method. According to them, this decision actually benefits buyers of Chinese cars.
"Actually (price wars) are fine. Because in the end, the consumer is the winner who gets a competitive price," said Ryan Ferdiean Tirto, Head of Product at Jaecoo Indonesia in BSD, Tangerang on Monday (30/06).
According to Ryan, price wars are legitimate as long as the quality of the products offered is still prioritized.
Then, continue to innovate. So as to present a variety of the latest features.
"From Jaecoo's side, we also have to figure out how to produce innovative products. Providing high value, or even more," Ryan continued.
Based on this, Jaecoo considers the price wars often implemented by Chinese car manufacturers to be reasonable.
It is claimed to benefit the consumers who buy. Because they can take home a vehicle at an affordable price.
"It's okay (price wars) as long as the consumers are happy. Because we give more value to them," Ryan affirmed.
For your information, this Chinese brand has not yet officially marketed the Jaecoo J7 SHS in the country.
However, orders for the four-wheeled vehicle have been open for some time.
The Jaecoo J7 is offered at around Rp 549 million for the AWD variant during the pre-booking period. Then the SHS (Super Hybrid System) type is sold at Rp 599 million.
As a reminder, the price of PHEV cars in Indonesia is quite expensive. Like what is offered by Mazda.
The Japanese manufacturer sells its environmentally friendly four-wheeled vehicle, the Mazda CX-80 PHEV, at around Rp 1.1 billion.
Then there is the Lexus NX 450h+ which is marketed at Rp 1.6 billion. Then the Lexus RX 450h+ is offered at Rp 1.8 billion.
Not to be left out, the Volvo XC40 PHEV is priced at Rp 1 billion and the Volvo XC60 PHEV at Rp 1.5 billion.
On the other hand, BMW has also entered the PHEV car segment. They market the BMW XM at a price of Rp 6.4 billion.
