The right-hand drive version of the boxy Jetour T2 SUV will undergo its debut test before its official launch in Indonesia this year.
KatadataOTO – Jetour is set to launch a new SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) model this year. One of them is the T2, which is already marketed in its home country.
For your information, in the global market, the Jetour T2 is offered with gasoline and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) engine options. The T2 has the potential to be Jetour's first hybrid car in the country.
Jetour has confirmed that the Jetour T2 will be one of the new models to hit the roads in Indonesia, adding to the variety of boxy SUVs.
“The boxy SUV that is indeed the number one best-selling model in China is the Jetour T2, and it will also be part of our new lineup this year,” said Moch. Ranggy Rahadiansyah, Marketing Director of PT Jetour Motor Indonesia in Jakarta, on Thursday (20/03).
There is a potential for the Jetour T2 to debut alongside their first electric car, the X50e EV, taking advantage of the GIIAS 2025 national automotive exhibition.
According to Jetour, many consumers have been asking about the popular model. However, potential buyers need to be patient as many preparations are needed before the T2's launch.
“We will start road tests in Indonesia, the first test for the (Jetour T2) right-hand drive version,” said Ranggy.
Regarding the price, Ranggy emphasized that Jetour is still conducting surveys so that the offered price can meet the desires of boxy SUV enthusiasts.
He was also still reluctant to reveal which variant would enter the country.
“As for whether it's a hybrid or not, just wait and see. But as we have previously informed, Jetour has a roadmap for ICE, PHEV, and we will complete it with EV. We will provide model options according to the needs of each consumer segment in Indonesia,” said Ranggy.
Referring to the information on the Jetour Global website, the PHEV type of the Jetour T2 is equipped with a 1,500 cc turbo engine. The engine's performance is assisted by an electric motor and a 26.7 kWh LFP battery.
Thanks to the inclusion of the battery, the Jetour T2 can travel without gasoline assistance with a claimed range of 139 km (NEDC) on a single full charge.
