Toyota Hilux Travo is registered in Thailand, not an all-new model but has received many physical changes.
KatadataOTO – Toyota is once again preparing a new product for 2025. After the Hilux Champ, the Hilux double cabin is being prepared to receive a number of refreshments, especially on the exterior, and is scheduled to launch in the near future.
Reported by Carscoops, Saturday (11/1), the newest model from Toyota will reportedly be named Hilux Travo, as registered in Thailand.
Not without reason, Thailand is one of the chosen locations for manufacturers to present pickup double cabins because the market there is considered large.
Looking at camera shots and reports from local Thai media, Headlightmag, the changes to the new Hilux are mostly on the exterior, especially the fascia.
The camouflaged grille and taillight areas indicate changes. The grille design is seen to use a honeycomb shape this time, more complex than the previous model.
This makes the front appearance look fresher. The size of the new Hilux's headlights also seems to have shrunk, adding a sporty and aggressive impression to the double cabin pickup.
Besides the front, the Hilux spyshot also shows that the pickup bed area, taillights, and even the wheels are also covered in camouflage.
As for the interior, such as the roof, dashboard, and doors, there do not seem to be any significant changes. It is strongly suspected that the Hilux Travo is a facelift version of its predecessor, not an all-new or new generation model.
Besides the design, it is possible that the Hilux will be built on a new ladder frame platform, namely the IMV. The same one used by the Hilux Rangga.
Unfortunately, until now, Toyota is claimed to be still reluctant to provide detailed explanations about the Hilux update.
Speaking of the powertrain, it is believed that there are no changes. Similar to the Hilux specifications in Indonesia, but in Thailand, it will be available in an environmentally friendly option, namely mild-hybrid.
In Indonesia, the presence of the Toyota Hilux is still needed, so its newest version has a high chance of being introduced. According to PT TAM (Toyota Astra Motor), the Hilux and Rangga complement each other.
“The previous 4x4 single cabin Hilux will still be available, we are only replacing the 4x2 with this (Hilux Rangga). Because I think it is more suitable for the Indonesian segment in terms of size, price, and its line-up,” said Anton Jimmi Suwandy, Marketing Director of PT TAM some time ago.
