The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux is reportedly debuting in Thailand as the Hilux Travo, with a hybrid variant.
KatadataOTO – The Toyota Hilux will soon receive a major update for its ninth generation. Its introduction is said to be on November 10, 2025.
Considering Thailand is a country with high pickup truck sales, the latest generation Toyota Hilux will debut there with a new exterior.
The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux will also be a new option in the electrification segment for the T-badged manufacturer. This is because the all-new Toyota Hilux's powertrain is already equipped with mild hybrid technology.
Speaking of the exterior, the Toyota Hilux now has a more modern front fascia. The headlamp design is slimmer, and the T emblem has been replaced with a logo spelling out Toyota in capital letters.
Still a silhouette, the car's hood posture appears to have sharper lines. Meanwhile, at the rear, the LED lights also feature a new style and look more elegant.
The wheels also use a new model with a black finish, reinforcing the sporty feel of the Toyota Hilux.
However, there is no official information yet regarding the cabin design of the new generation Toyota Hilux. But based on spy shots that circulated some time ago, a number of updates have been made.
In the first-row cabin, Toyota has embedded a digital instrument panel equipped with a free-standing infotainment screen.
Then, the materials on components like the dashboard and seats are believed to have been upgraded. Making it look more like a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), not as simple as the interior character of a commercial vehicle.
The Toyota Hilux is said to use a 2,800 cc mild hybrid turbodiesel powertrain, producing 201 hp and a peak torque of 500 Nm.
The power is then channeled to the rear wheels or all wheels using an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system via an automatic transmission.
Toyota has not provided detailed information regarding the destination countries for the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux.
However, looking at past patterns, Indonesia could be the next country. It should be noted that in 2023, the Toyota Hilux Rangga was introduced first in Thailand before eventually being sold to consumers in Indonesia.
The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux will launch in Thailand as the Hilux Travo, no longer using the Revo name.
