KatadataOTO – Lexus LFA Concept was officially introduced as a prototype for a pure electric sports car or Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).

This is a form of commitment from Toyota to remain relevant in the era of electrification while maintaining their manufacturing techniques and the distinctive characteristics of their vehicle lineup.

For your information, the Lexus LFA Concept was developed together with the Toyota GR GT and GR GT3.

Carrying Toyota’s Shinken Sengu concept, the Lexus LFA Concept is expected to be an innovative model balanced with maximum driving performance.

The three main principles that form the basis for the development of the Lexus LFA Concept are a low center of gravity, light weight with high rigidity, and optimal aerodynamic performance.

In the manufacturing process, the distinctive features and assembly techniques of the GR GT and GR GT3 are applied and then combined with various new opportunities that can only be realized through an electric car platform.

The Lexus LFA Concept is built on an all-aluminum body frame, claimed to be lightweight yet rigid. Its body silhouette at a glance looks like the Toyota GR Supra, but the rim size appears larger.

However, the overall character of the previous Lexus LFA is still maintained with the addition of modern touches in several areas, such as the rear lights being equipped with an LED bar.

The rear of the Lexus LFA Concept is now also equipped with a Lexus emblem integrated with an LED bar, plus an additional stop lamp in the bumper area.

Inside, the Lexus LFA Concept offers an immersive driving experience. The vehicle function controls are made as ergonomic as possible around the driver.

This concept aims to offer a sensation of unity between the driver and the vehicle they are using.

In terms of dimensions, the Lexus LFA Concept has a length of 4,690 mm, a width of 2,040 mm, a height of 1,195 mm, a wheelbase of 2,725 mm, and can accommodate two passengers.

However, Lexus has not yet provided estimated technical specifications for the LFA Concept, whether it be battery capacity, range, or its performance.

However, the Lexus LFA Concept provides a glimpse of a future electric sports car from Toyota, still maintaining the LFA identity with more capable technology.
