KatadataOTO – DST Concept has finally officially launched as the Mitsubishi Destinator in Indonesia for the first time. Its prototype version first appeared in the Philippines in 2024.

Indonesia was chosen as the place for the Mitsubishi Destinator, alias the production version of the DST Concept, to make its debut.

“We named this new SUV the Destinator, built with our long experience in creating SUVs,” said Takao Kato, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Jakarta, Thursday (17/07).

He revealed that the Mitsubishi Destinator will go on sale on July 23, 2025, and will be expanded to ASEAN markets, including the Philippines.

Previously, Mitsubishi revealed that the Destinator is here to fill the gap between the Pajero and the Xpander.

Then, seeing the positive response to the XForce, Mitsubishi then developed that model.

Mitsubishi's newest 7-seater SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) has a look that is still identical to its sibling, the XForce. This is visible from the grille design to the car's C-pillar area.

The Destinator also follows in the footsteps of the Xpander crossover MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), designed for use as a family car but with a sporty and modern look.

The front of the Mitsubishi Destinator adopts the Dynamic Shield concept, which is elegant and gives a tough impression, dominated by black, complete with a honeycomb pattern grille.

When viewed from the rear, the Mitsubishi Destinator is very identical to the XForce. Especially the taillight design, which features a horizontal striped pattern.

Just like the XForce, the newest SUV from Mitsubishi is also equipped with driving modes suitable for road conditions in Southeast Asia. These modes include Wet, Tarmac, Normal, Gravel, and Mud.

The three-diamond manufacturer has equipped the Destinator with various driving safety features, including ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control).

Then there is a multi-around monitor and a body structure optimized to absorb impacts and maximize passenger safety in the cabin.

There is a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a Yamaha audio system, and various connectivity features to pamper passengers during their journey in the Mitsubishi Destinator.

The Mitsubishi Destinator is embedded with a 1,500 cc engine equipped with turbo technology, paired with an automatic transmission. The maximum power produced is 160 hp, while the peak torque of 250 Nm is channeled to the two front wheels.

For those who are interested, the price of the Mitsubishi Destinator will be announced at the GIIAS 2025 automotive event starting July 23.
