KatadataOTO – Shocking news comes from the automotive world. Because all Daihatsu products are rumored to be using the Toyota brand and logo.

This was known from an announcement that has been circulating on social media recently.

In the circulating release, which appears to be from Daihatsu's official website, it was posted on April 1, 2025. They claim all products will be under the operation of Toyota Motor Corporation.

“To our valued customers, partners, and stakeholders, Daihatsu has been a proud automotive brand, providing reliable and innovative mobility solutions for several decades,” the announcement read.

It was then stated that this step was taken to strengthen the unification of the two brands and increase operational efficiency under their parent company, Toyota Motor Corporation.

“We have made a strategic decision to transition all Daihatsu operations and products under the Toyota brand,” the announcement continued.

Then, in the same announcement, it was also mentioned that the rebranding process for Daihatsu dealers, service centers, and operations will begin in the near future.

The transition is planned to be fully completed by the end of this year. Then, Toyota is committed to providing vehicles and support for customers after the entire process is complete.

On the other hand, ADM (Astra Daihatsu Motor) has spoken out about the news above. According to them, the issue is not true, or a hoax.

“We confirm that this information is not true and our principal, DMC (Daihatsu Motor Corporation), has never issued information like what is currently circulating,” said Sri Agung Handayani, Marketing Director of ADM to KatadataOTO, on Thursday (03/04).

Agung confirmed that all Daihatsu operations in the country are running as usual. Without any changes.

The Daihatsu brand continues to serve consumers in the country with its well-known product lines and services.

“Daihatsu in Indonesia is running as usual, there are no changes whatsoever,” Agung added.

Indeed, if you check Daihatsu's official website on the same date, there is no fact of the Daihatsu brand switching to Toyota.

On their website, they actually announced a price increase for the Move Canbus product. Not like what has been discussed recently.
