KatadataOTO – Entering 2026, the design of the latest generation Toyota Hilux pickup has been registered in Indonesia. This information was revealed on the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) page No. 1/DI/2026.

In the DJKI report, the applicant's name is listed as Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, located in Japan.

The newest Toyota Hilux has already been marketed in Thailand first under the name Hilux Travo. There, a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) variant of the Hilux is also offered.

The first design is registered with application number A00202504994. This model is strongly believed to be the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux single cabin version, as seen from its front appearance which features a new concept with a honeycomb-patterned grille.

The double cabin Hilux from Toyota Hilux appears sportier with more dynamic-patterned wheels. The door handles and side mirrors are wrapped in black.

The two types registered by Toyota are the Travo single cabin and the Travo double cabin.

The highest variant in Thailand, the Hilux Travo Overland, seems not to have been registered by Toyota in Indonesia.

There is a chance that the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux will be presented at the Indonesia International Motor Show or IIMS 2026, which will take place in early February.

For your information, the newest generation Toyota Hilux is built on the same platform as the Hilux Rangga, namely the Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle or IMV.

The newest Hilux uses a 2,800 cc engine, claimed to offer better fuel efficiency than the previous generation.

Thailand was chosen as the first Southeast Asian country for the Hilux's presence due to the high enthusiasm for pickups there.

There, the Toyota Hilux is priced at 767,000 baht or around Rp 349.9 million in rupiah currency for the single cabin variant. Meanwhile, the double cabin type starts from 839,000 baht, equivalent to Rp 432 million.

News of the new generation Toyota Hilux's arrival has grown stronger after its introduction in Thailand. Considering the Hilux Rangga was also first introduced in the Land of the White Elephant before being sold in Indonesia.

However, the exact launch time and price range for the new generation Toyota Hilux are not yet known.

For comparison, the Hilux Single Cabin is currently sold domestically starting from Rp 410.8 million. Meanwhile, the highest double cabin type option is equivalent to Rp 539.9 million on the road in Jakarta.
