Castrol is optimistic that oil sales in the country will continue to grow despite many challenges for the automotive sector.

KatadataOTO – New car sales will face many obstacles in 2025. Such as the increase in VAT (Value Added Tax) to 12 percent.
The plan is for the above policy to be fully implemented by President Prabowo Subianto on February 1, 2025.
Then there is also the implementation of the PKB (Motor Vehicle Tax) and BBNKB (Vehicle Title Transfer Fee) surcharge. Potentially causing new car prices to rise.
If that happens, public purchasing power is predicted to decline like last year. Then impacting other sectors, such as oil sales
Even so, Castrol Indonesia remains calm in facing the above possibility. According to them, the need for lubricants will always exist.
“Because even though car (sales) fluctuate, old vehicles are still around and need an oil change,” said Amanda Parikesit, Head of Marketing for Castrol Indonesia, when met in Jakarta some time ago.
She further explained that Indonesia is a country with a fairly large population of cars and motorcycles in the Southeast Asian region.
Based on this, the oil manufacturer is confident in the market potential in the country, able to grow in the future.
“So indeed, Indonesia has always been an interesting country for Castrol to focus on. Therefore, we believe we can continue to grow,” she continued.
She also hopes the domestic economic conditions will improve quickly. Thus stimulating various industrial sectors.
On the other hand, to maintain its existence in lubricant sales, Castrol Indonesia is always looking at various possibilities. One of them is by welcoming the EV (Electric Vehicle) era.
Amanda admitted that Castrol is starting to think about marketing special products for electric cars to domestic consumers.
“If the need is there, we will consider bringing it here,” she stated.
She revealed that globally, Castrol already has a number of special products for use in electric four-wheeled vehicles.
Looking at their official website, the product is named Castrol On. It consists of EV Transmission Fluids, EV Thermal Fluids, and EV Greases.
All of these are expected to meet the needs of electric car users, which are now growing rapidly.
However, Amanda could not yet confirm when Castrol will market the above lubricants for consumers in the country.
