KatadataOTO – It is undeniable that sales in April 2025 experienced a fairly deep decline compared to the previous month. The correction occurred not only in retail sales but also in wholesales.

This decline had a direct impact on several brands, including Honda, which was only able to ship 4,539 units. That figure is a sharp drop from the previous month's 8,165 units.

Not only retail, wholesales in April 2025 also only reached 3,000 units. Meanwhile, in March 2025, they recorded a wholesale figure of 6,303 units.

This achievement came under the spotlight as it was the lowest figure in the first four months.

This condition caused Honda to be displaced from the top five and had to settle for sixth position among the best-selling manufacturers. This situation was successfully capitalized on by BYD, which entered the top five for the first time with sales of 3,496 units.

Yusak Billy, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, revealed that many factors influenced the sales decline in April 2025.

“Besides fewer working days and an unstable market, there were also logistical constraints for CBU unit shipments. We are currently managing the shipping volume for several products that will undergo a model change in the near future,” he told KatadataOTO (14/05).

However, looking at retail sales records, the Japanese manufacturer still holds the third position. This is because they shipped 4,539 units, surpassing several other vehicle brands.

To improve the situation, he has prepared various strategies. He even ensures that the availability of goods can be managed so that customers are not inconvenienced.

“We continue to monitor market conditions and CBU shipments, and also strive to ease consumer purchases with sales programs. In addition, there will be a model refresh with new technology in its segment to increase demand in the near future,” he added.

Furthermore, Honda will also prepare several new models to boost sales.
