KatadataOTO – The locally assembled version of the Toyota bZ4X was officially introduced in Indonesia at the GIIAS 2025 event. There are no differences in technical specifications, but the latest bZ4X has received refreshments in several parts, both exterior and interior.

Additionally, the battery efficiency has been improved from the older bZ4X model, where its temperature management and charging stability are claimed to be better.

It should be noted that previously, the Toyota bZ4X was available as a Completely Built Up (CBU) import from its country of origin, Japan. The price for that model reached over IDR 1 billion on the road in Jakarta.

With the decision for local assembly, the new Toyota bZ4X price is believed to be lower and more competitive in its class.

However, until now, PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has remained tight-lipped about the price of the locally assembled Toyota bZ4X.

“We will announce it as soon as possible, this year at the vehicle's launch,” said Resha Kusuma Atmaja, Marketing Planning General Manager of PT TAM, during a discussion on the sidelines of GIIAS 2025 some time ago.

He revealed that the local version of the Toyota bZ4X has received a minor change tailored to consumer needs.

Furthermore, there is no clear information yet regarding the Local Component Level (TKDN) of the Toyota bZ4X. However, if it can reach 40 percent, it will meet the requirements to receive electric car incentives from the government.

“At the beginning of GIIAS 2025, we did introduce the bZ4X with a minor change and local production. As for the price, we cannot disclose it yet,” Resha affirmed.

Along with the locally assembled bZ4X, Toyota also brought the Urban Cruiser EV, which is touted to be the twin of the Suzuki eVitara.

The Urban Cruiser EV was only presented as an introduction. Orders have not yet been opened, and Toyota is still keeping the technical specifications of the electric car for the Indonesian market under wraps.

Speaking of GIIAS 2025, the provisional number of Vehicle Order Letters (SPK) for Toyota at the exhibition reached 4,250 orders. The Kijang Innova Zenix HEV hybrid car was one of the main contributors.
